hiatus...

Haven't posted here or much of anywhere lately.  Stuff that's been going on is stuff I'd rather people not read about. Not only is it depressing but it's entirely too humbling and embarrassing. But life goes on. In the past two weeks, I've gotten broken TWICE. Bruised rib and now a sprained finger. Damn. Peter is growing like a weed... I still ask no one in particular every day "Where in my DNA did it say 'SPIDER MONKEY'?!?!" He climbs every thing... cabinets, stove, refrigerator, drawers... hooray. I've joined the local early music guild. ZOMG it's so nice to be playing with a group again! Oh yeah, by the way, xanga world, I play the violin!!! Bet most of ya didn't know THAT! Anyway... that's about all there is to write about... >.>

9/11, x-post from LJ, Facebook

I was at my first year of college whenever the WTC towers were hit. I had to go to some additional tutoring for my math class in Kerr Hall. We walked in and everyone was gathered around the TV. I watched the 2nd tower fall. I didn't have words for how I felt. My tutor just pulled me towards the elevator so that we could all go study. Studying lasted MAYBE fifteen minutes. We all went back to our dorms and classes were cancelled for the day. I remember feeling utterly distant and alone without my close friends and family around. I called my dad and he assured me it'd be okay. I still felt alone so I got online with some of my friends to chat for a bit. Thanks, Danceart. My friend called me, one I'd just made and he said to come over to his dorm. I did and we watched all of it unfold. It was horrifying. Then, they said they'd activated the New York national guard. I freaked the hell out. A friend of mine was in the NYNG. He assured me that he'd be fine. I didn't believe him because I didn't trust other people to not try to hurt him. We all felt useless, sitting around doing nothing, then we got a bright idea to go donate blood. There were lines out of every blood bank that we could find. I went ahead and made the wait since my blood is O- and therefore a universal donor. I e-mailed my friend in New York, not the one in the NYNG, but my author friend. He said that he and his were fine but they had been in the Towers only a few days before. I was relieved. My emotions weren't totally out of the woods. Alot of my friends from high school were in the military. So, to this day, they're still over there fighting for us. Thank you, service people, for all you do.
